Rohit Chawla - Ravi Varma Series (featured in Tasveer's travelling exhibition, The Inspired Frame)

The Inspired Frame features photographs that pay tribute to three renowned and seminal artists: Raja Ravi Varma, Gustav Klimt and Frida Kahlo, alongside select works inspired by miniature paintings.

In the photographic series, Chawla reconstructs tableaus and compositions as featured in famous works of art, using contemporary models to recreate life-like experiences of the originals.

The next exhibition will be in Delhi at Bikaner House from 10th to 18th March 2017. A selection of works from the Ravi Varma series will form part of Tasveer's exhibit at India Art Fair 2017 (A Mysore Lady near the Well (Aditi Rao Hydari), Lady Holding a Fan (Reshmi Ghosh) and Vasantasena (Anoushka Shankar)
