Hyatt Regency
New Delhi

November brings with it a slight chill in the air. The gorgeous weather is much welcomed after the erratic rains and unbearable heat, and few would want to spend their time indoors if they can help it. November also heralds the festive season which spells an endless flow of rich dinners and heavy lunches that leaves one craving for lighter options. If you concur with the above then we suggest you make your way to the Hyatt Regency and head straight for their all-day diner.

Cafe’s vast open spaces are perfect for large groups to be at ease as well as for the solitary diner looking for some quality time. But having tested the tastes here, we at The Wall believe that it is the delicious multi – cuisine buffet service that has ensured its position as a favourite for 30 years.

At the entrance we were greeted by a juice counter which offers everything from watermelon to sugarcane and wheatgrass, served fresh. Having chosen our drinks we made our way to the salad bars in the middle of the dining area. Diners may customise their salad by picking ingredients from an array of veggies, cold cuts, seafood and dressings and have the chef put it together for you, but if you find the task too daunting like we did, not to worry! Simply make your pick from the 30 salads in honour of the hotel’s 30th anniversary.

At the far end dining area is the main course counter and Executive Chef Marin Leuthard puts together a mouth-watering spread that has something for every taste bud – Thai, Chinese, Italian, Mughlai. We were spoilt for choice and settled for bite sized portions of some good old Chilly Chicken, White Curry with steamed rice, Paneer Lambadar and naan.

To end things on a sweet note we headed back to the juice counter that doubles as the dessert corner which again offers Indian and International choice. We settled for delicious slice of raspberry cheesecake recommended by the chef, carrying on with our endless conversations as the afternoon passed away.

So make the most of the weather and head to Cafe to escape the routine of the office canteen, to end that tiring gift shopping trip with a delicious meal or to catch up with friends over a light brunch
